A young couple is backlit on the beach by a setting sun. Painted with gouache and acrylics. The waves in the background and the sun are airbrushed, so it allowed me to give that out-of-focus camera feel (including the bokeh!). The couple’s contour is done with an iridescent gold.

Keeping up with a photography-based approach to my paintings, I painted this surfer in a perfect barrel wave in an ultra-wide lens fashion. The greenish light penetrating the wave lights up the surfer’s side. It is created with acrylics on hardboard, applying a little bit of airbrush here and there.

A playful portrait of Carlsbad, California, bringing together some of the city's most recognizable landmarks in one whimsical skyline. From its historic architecture and iconic Carlsbad sign to the towering palms and familiar windmill, each landmark celebrates a little piece of the city's character.
Loose washes of turquoise, blue, and golden yellow blend and flow across the paper, while delicate black ink lines reveal the architectural details.
